Year 12 Formal by Kerrie Gurney

Hi everyone it is Kerrie here and today I am sharing a layout with a photo from my son's year 12 formal last year.
This is Brayden with his girls, one is his girlfriend and the other two are his best girl friends, I love that he has a close friendship with the girls. It means he treats them all with respect, which make me proud.

For this layout I chose to turn the photo to black and white and the girls dresses were green, red  & ivory and Brayden's tie was red, so too many colours for the type of layout I wanted.

I  used the yet to be released Sophia Decorative Dies and the embossing folders from the Elegance Collection which have just been released.

To start die cut the Beradi Heart Die and 2 of the Matiloa Flourish Die from cardstock,  emboss the Beradi Heart Die with the Extra Loren Embossing Folder

Cut a strip of patterned paper 1.5" x 11" and emboss with Extra Confetti Embossing Folder working the strip through the slot at the top of the Embossing Folder.

Distress all the edges of your patterned paper with Couture Creations Scissors

Tear a small section on the bottom of your page and adhere a section of the second Matiloa Flourish Decorative Die  under the base page.

Irish Dreaming by Sue Smyth

The new range of Fantasia Doily Dies from Couture Creations are simply fabulous for making feminine elegant cards with ease and no fuss.
I instantly thought of a mini folded card, which could become a place card easily at your next Dinner party or  function. The intricate lace design needs little to embellish, just a bow, cameo and some pearls.

Special Time by Patti Hamil

When I was little one of my very favourite things was reading with my Daddy. I had one book that was my favourite, it was "Jasper the Giraffe", and it was about a giraffe that never got any mail and the rest of the animals always did. One day he broke his leg and was surprised when he got lots of "get well" wishes in the mail!!!! I'm not sure if that's the actual book in the photo or not!!

I used the Fantasia collection Dazzling doily die. I thought it suited a heritage page. I started by cutting 4 blue and 2 light yellow, then cut each in half.

I used Sweet Dreams collection Fancy That embossing folder and embossed a strip 12" long with the same light yellow.

I used the Fresh & Fun Hyper Magical folder with light green cardstock and cut leaves out of it.

I cut a few circles of  random size and placed them on the page as well.

I matted my photo with an embossed piece with the same Sweet Dreams folder in yellow with a solid blue mat behind it for the base.

I added "faux-stitching" with my Zig markers, made a couple of blooms with the Daisy Nesting die and then put it all together!! I just used some old alpha stickers for the title.

Courage by Gloria Stengel

Hello everyone! It is Gloria with you today. I have used one of the new doily die templates to make a "pretty in pink" card for you.

1. Create a 5 x 5 inch white card.
2. Trim printed paper to 4 7/8 x 4 7/8 inches and attach to card front.
3. Using the Tatted Lace Doily Die (Fantasia Collection), cut and emboss pink cardstock. You may need to use the Piercing Tool to remove some of the tiny bits from the die cut. (My die did not come with injection foam. To aid the removal of the paper, I placed a sheet of wax paper between the die and my cardstock. This helped me remove the die cut shape from the paper without tearing it.)
4. Attach the square doily shape to the center of the card. Wrap a length of pink ribbon around the center of the panel and secure.
5. Using the Scallop Rectangle a Nesting Dies, cut a rectangle from dark pink cardstock.
6. Stamp sentiment with black ink onto white cardstock. Line the Rectangle Nesting Die template over the stamped sentiment and tape down.

7.  Cut and emboss both shapes.
8. Using Foam Mounting Tape, attach the sentiment stack to the center of the card, overlapping the ribbon.
9. Tie two bows, one from pink ribbon and one from dark pink ribbon and glue them to the right of the sentiment. Top with a paper rose.

10. Stamp a sentiment onto white cardstock. Use the oval die from the Picture Frame Nesting Die to cut out the sentiment. Using a Sponge Dauber and pink distress ink, add colour to the sentiment. Tuck the sentiment under the right edge of the ribbon bows.

Joie de Vivre by Cathi O'Neill

Hi, Cathi here! I am so excited to share my second May project for Couture Creations today! I used many doily dies, nesting dies, a decorative die and a gorgeous embossing folder to create this layout!

My main die cut is the beautiful Fantasia Irish Dreams Doily Die, appropriate one for me, living here
in Ireland! I used the Graphic 45 French Country collection for this layout and cut a doily from their blue toile paper. I also used the Fantasia Ivy Set Doily Dies, a set of two gorgeous smaller doilies and inked all of their edges with my Couture Creations sponge dauber.  I cut the Irish Dreams doily in half to use as matting under my photos of my eldest Aine (it is Irish name, pronounced on-ya) up on the hills overlooking the local lake Lough Derg.

I layered, stitched and distressed a sheet of Graphic 45 paper placing it on some Core'dinations card stock as a base. For my next layer I used the Couture Creations Fresh and Fun Large Powder Puff embossing folder. I embossed one side of the paper and turned it around and matched it up to finish embossing the long sheet of paper. I used my Couture Creations Sanding Block to bring up the blue core color and then distressed the paper with my Tim Holtz Walnut Stain distress ink. I attached it to the layout with Couture Creations double sided tape.

I layered several fussy cut pieces from the French Country collection and also placed my smaller doilies in these layers. I also used molding paste and a stencil on the background paper and inked over top using my  sponge dauber again with some yellow ink. I then popped my photos up using Couture Creations Foam tape to add some extra dimension.

I made two more types of flowers for this layout using the Couture Creations Daisy Nesting Dies.

My first is a layered sunflower to tie in with the Graphic 45 papers. I cut out two of the middle sized flower die. I cut several slits into each daisy petal with my Couture Creations non-stick scissors.

I then shaped the smaller petals with my Precision LED Tweezers giving them a twist to add some dimension to the flower.

I glued the two layers together and then die cut the smallest of the Daisy Nesting Dies
and embossed it with the same folder to make the flower center.

My second flower I used the second smallest Daisy Nesting Dies and did a rolled flower, cutting a spiral into the die cut and then rolling the outside of the flower towards the center, gluing the outer flower down to the base at the center of the die cut.

I used the sponge dauber again to distress the edges of the flowers and added Couture Creations self-adhesive pearls to the centers.

I arranged and glued down the flowers and added the gorgeous Endless Dreams: Longevity Decorative Die to the cluster to give a little more interest.

.
I finished off the layout with a ribbon bow and some burlap string.

Hope you enjoyed this tutorial and that you will share any work you do with these gorgeous dies and folders on our Facebook page!!
