Time to Remember by Kerrie Gurney

#couturecreationsaus

Hi Everyone Kerrie here
I am back with another project

I am so excited to be using the new Vintage Rose Garden patterned papers from Couture Creations, they are so soft and feminine, perfect for any occasion and printed on high quality 180gsm paper.
So perfect for this photo of my friend Glenda and I
( I met Glenda when I was invited by Glenda to attend her scrapbooking convention in South Africa on behalf of Couture Creations back in 2012. If you ever get to South Africa you must attend one of Glenda's SA Scrapbook Conventions  you won't regret it)

My layout is simple with lots of layers and some embossing to add some texture.

I embossed a strip of Vintage Rose Garden patterned paper using Twiggy Christmas embossing folder, I love that this folder can be used for projects other than just Christmas projects.

then lightly sand to add a bit of vintage shabbiness to the patterned paper

next I embossed a piece of Core'dinations Cardstock using Christmas Quilt Embossing Folder another fabulous design from the Christmas Collection that can be used for any occasion

sand lightly to revel the core colour

I then distressed the edges of all papers and cardstock and then to finish off the vintage look
I  inked all the edges with brown dye ink pad using a sponge dauber as they give a softer look than just using your ink pad straight onto the paper.

I  die cut a Splendour Ornamental Lace die from The Treasures collection and tucked it in behind my photo

Die cut a Simplicty Border die and cut it in half through the middle to create a lovely border, I then added some sparkle to the border using glitter glue very sparingly.

Finish off with some flower embellishments, crochet trim, gemstones and Imaginarium Designs Chipboard Title

 Happy Creating

Dragonfly Fearie Card by Tracey Cooley

#couturecreationsaus

Hi Everyone
One day, just one day I would love to stumble upon a fearie... a land of cute little fairies that are all sparkles and mischief.... its a lovely daydream isn't it. There is just something about the thought of fairies being real that fills your imagination with wonder and mischief. I think this land would be filled with all sorts of different looking fairies including one that looks like this!
To make this little Dragonfly Fairy Card I cut a piece of cardstock to the correct size for my card front and grabbed a piece of book paper.

I then covered the cardstock with the book paper

Then with an ink pad that has a hard surface I inked the top side (the label side) of my Couture Creations Ambassador Dandelion Embossing Folder.

While the ink was still wet I ran may book paper cardstock through it in my cutting machine.
once through I cleaned my emboss folder with a wet wipe.

I love the effect this has on the book paper it seems to jut soak up the ink and give such a crisp clean look. Once done I then used some of my Couture Goodness to create my Dragonfly fairy..

I used 2 of the dragonflies and cut off their little wings to make the skirt of my fairy and the of course one for the wings of the fairy and one I paced in the corner of my card. I coated them with hologram glitter before adding.

I then added a couple of little roses.

If I cannot stumble across a real fearie...
I can certainly make my own!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by have a fairy fantastic day!!

Shabby Chic Card by Kerrie Gurney

#couturecreationsaus

Hi Everyone Kerrie here
Can you believe September is almost over, this year is going by in the blink of an eye.
I created this shabby chic look card with a touch of glitter perfect for any occasion

Start by inking up Christmas Quilt embossing folder using a versamark or clear ink pad.
Make sure you use your Couture Creations Craft Mat so as not to get residue on your cutting mat

Next lay the embossing folder onto your card and apply pressure all over, remember it doesn't have to be perfect (you can used a brayer for a more even look)

Remove the embossing folder and cover the card completely with white embossing powder (fine or thick)

tap off the excess

heat set using our NEW Couture Creations Heat Tool

Spritz with a metallic mist

See how easy clean up is when you use your Couture Creations Craft Mat

Wipe clean your embossing folder either using a baby wipe or run it under the tap using soap.
Dry the embossing folder off

cut a strip of Core'dinations Core Cardstock

Emboss the strip

sand lightly to reveal the core colour using Couture Creations Sanding Block

Die Cut 2 part pieces of Splendor Ornamental Lace Dies one from White Core'dnations Foundations Cardstock and the other from Grey Core'dinations Core Cardstock (you can do this from scraps as you don't need the full die cut)

lightly the edges of the doily to reveal the core colour using Couture Creations Sanding Block

Die cut a section of one of the Simplicty Border dies from Core'dinations Silver Glittersilk Cardstock

Layer your two part doily dies onto base card

Pop some foam mounting tape onto the back of the embossed strip and adhere to base card
Layer on Silver glitter border strip and some paper flowers.

Add some Crystalina Glitzin' Glamour Glitter Glue to the flowers for some sparkle

Finish off with some Pink Blush Pearls

here is a closer look at all the details

I hope you have enjoyed my tutorial
