Devonshire Gentleman Card by Dana Tatar

Hi Couture Creations fans! Dana Tatar here today sharing a card I created with two of my favorite dies from the NEW Glamour Days Collection. I've created a silhouette pendant with the Devonshire Lady & Gentleman Die, which I then mounted on a layered and embellished die-cut frame that I created with the gorgeous Project Tag Die.

This card comes together in just a few simple steps!

Step 1. Cut an A2 size card base from kraft cardstock. Embellish the card base with layers of patterned paper and lace.

Step 2. Use the Project Tag Die to die-cut a project tag from white cardstock and kraft cardstock. Trim the white cardstock tag to fit inside the top portion of the kraft cardstock tag and secure with Double-Sided Tape. Embellish the bottom of the project tag with Moonlight Self-Adhesive Pearls.

Step 3. Attach a silk ribbon rosette to the center of the project tag with Foam Mounting Tape.

Step 4. Use the Devonshire Lady & Gentleman Die to cut a gentleman silhouette from black cardstock. Attach the gentleman die-cut to a piece of patterned paper with Double-Sided Tape. Add a small amount of glaze to the top of the die-cut and press a clear pendant over the top of the die-cut. Once the glaze is dry, trim any excess patterned paper from around the pendant, tie a piece of twine through the top of the pendant and mount onto the center of the flower with Foam Mounting Tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Spread Your Wings and Soar by Cathi O'Neill

Cathi here with a card for this month featuring the gorgeous Harmony Oriental Garden embossing folder and the Secret Treasures Feather die!

I embossed some Core'dinations Grassroot cardstock using the Harmony Oriental Garden folder. I cut the paper down to 4 3/4" square and did a second layer in Tim Holtz Worn Lipstick Core'dinations cardstock at 5 inch square.

Using Gold Gilding Wax I added a golden sheen to the embossed areas on the cardstock.

I added stitching to the card edges.

I die cut the Secret Treasures Feather die using more of the Worn Lipstick Core'dinations cardstock. I embossed the edges of the feathers with olive gold embossing powder, adding a bit more of the gold gilding wax. I finished the card with a bit of twine and a sentiment that I printed and cut out making a banner.

I hope you like my card!! Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Welcome Baby by Patti Hamil

I have a card to share today using the cute little Journal Tab dies from the Secret Treasures collection along with the little Rocking Horse die. I started out by picking out some Core'dinations cardstock in three colors and a scrap piece of patterned paper with similar colors. I chose a 6x6 blue for the base and trimmed a little off each size so that I could put it on a 6x6 white card base.

I cut three of the Journal tabs in different colors to start off.

I then placed the patterned piece on the blue base, added the 3 tab die cuts and added some letter stickers in opposite colors on the top and bottom one. I then cut the rocking horse in white glitter paper, inked it with blue and placed it on the center tab.

I added a gemstone eye to the rocking horse and added some tiny blue ribbon and that was it. This card was super quick, and you can do pink for girls or blue for boys!!! Just a really quick little card!!!

Feather Card by Sue Smyth

Those of you who know me, you would know I love birds and feathers.
So of course when Couture Creations came out with
this feather die, I was in heaven.

I have shared with you how to alter these feathers before in a previous
post, so today I want to share another. I hope to come
up with lots of ways to alter it, I have not even
started with colour yet !

I have made one feather as per my previous post and now
here is another way, with very little in the way of materials.

Step 1
Cut feather out of white cardstock and
light weight chipboard. Adhere the both together.

Step 2
Rub black ink all over the feather. Allow to dry

Step 3
Draw in lines with a gel or paint pen, add spots and detail as desired.

Together is My Favorite Place To Be by Pam Bray

Today I would love to share my "Together is My Favorite Place To Be".....I made it for part of Jan Project Life...I love how the Connexion Intricutz Die from the Sophia Collection wraps the Large Vintage Girl Embossing Folder....

I started my 6" x 8" by first embossing a pieces of Sage Green Kraft Distress Core'dinations paper with the Large Vintage Girl Embossing Folder...

sanding it lightly with the Couture Creations Sanding Block....

I did a second Large Vintage Girl embossed piece using white card stock and fussing cutting out the centre with my Couture Creations Precision Scissors....I took Wild Honey Distress ink and a dauber to distress the white oval once I had my sticker in place....

I ran the Connexion Die three times through my die cut machine so I would have plenty to wrap around the oval once I had place it on my card front using Couture Creations Double Sided Tape.

Here are is a closer look of the Large Vintage Girl Embossing Folder and Connexion Die

I had to let you see all of my fun little flowers that I made using the Couture Creations Rose nesting dies....I have placed Couture Creations gemstones in the centres of the flowers....

I hope you enjoyed my 6" x 8" project life piece and that you will try to add some embossed pieces as well as die cuts to your Project Life Albums.....
Hugs Pammejo

When in Rome by Kerrie Gurney

Hi all,

It's Kerrie again and it is my turn on the Couture Creations Blog and for my post today I have created a layout with my of my favourite photos from Rome. Wayne told me not to get my photo taken with any of the guys dressed as gladiators as they would ask for money ...but how could I resist, even Wayne joined in the fun but he was correct as they hit me up for 20 Euro for a few photos but to me it was money well spent as we got some fun photos with this guy in front of the Roman Forum.

Onto creating my layout

Firstly start off creating a shabby textured background by using Extra Confetti Embossing Folder under a piece of Core'dinations cardstock and sand to allow the pattern of the embossing folder show through.
Do this over the complete piece of Core'dinations cardstock.

Cut pieces of patterned paper for layering as per photo creating pennants with each of the strips. With the largest strip keep the cut off piece to add to layout. Distress all the edges of cardstock, patterned paper and photo using the edge of scissors.

Using black core'dinations cardstock die cut one of the 12" border dies from the Momento Chandeliers set.
Use Quick Release Die Paper so that your die cut pops straight out of die
Place the quick release die paper onto the die blades side up and then your cardstock and run through machine.

When you use the Quick Release Die Paper you only need to flick your die cut piece and all the bits will fall out, no painful poking :)

next colour chipboard alpha using a spray mist, paint or black ink pad.

Once dry use Fine Dots Embossing Folder to emboss

Sand alpha letters with sanding block to let chipboard chow through and give a shabby aged look to alphas for title.

Layer all onto your base I have also added a pocket envelope to place my journalling into, you can either make one or use a bought one. Adhere in place using Couture Creations double sided tape.

Dreamer by Cathi O'Neill

Couture Creations released some beautiful new dies and folders at CHA.
One that I fell in love with and had to have was the gorgeous Look in My Window Die from the Secret Treasures Collection.
I love the window with 3D shutters and window box !
I decided to use mine on a layout and have my daydreaming daughter's photo peeking behind the window!

I first chose some gorgeous paper from the Couture Creations Sew Jo 12x12 Paper Pad as a base to my layout. I then used some white Core'dinations cardstock to die cut the Look in My Window Die.

Using the Harmony Bricks in the Wall folder, I embossed a sheet of white Core'dinations cardstock.

I cut the brick wall embossed paper into random pieces and inked these using Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

To put together the layout, I inked the window die with the Walnut Stain Distress Ink and placed my photo behind it. I then added the embossed and inked brick pieces to the background, adding gesso to further distress and antique the layout background. I also added a favorite script stamp.

To make the window box embellishments I added some handmade flowers using the Daisy Nesting Dies you can find a tutorial for the flowers  HERE. I also added a purchased flower in there!  The leafy vine die is the gorgeous Sophia Dolce die. The flowers and vines were cut from another gorgeous piece of paper from the Sew Jo 12x12 Paper Pad. I added gesso randomly on the flowers and die cuts.

Here you can see it all coming together.I finished off the layout with my title "Dreamer" using  alphabet letters from my stash.

I hope you like my layout this month, and hope to see you sharing your work on the Couture Creations Facebook page!!!
