Moment in Time by Julianne McKenna-De Lumen

Well hello there everyone!
Today, I thought we might have some fun with fussy cutting. The Vintage Rose collections lends itself to some beautiful fussy cutting, and helps make creating a layout quite easy.
Let me walk you through it, and in no time, you'll be creating your own fabulous fussy cut layouts!

"Moment In Time"
For me, the secret to creating a good fussy cut and layered layout, it to create a good background to work on. Once you have a solid background, you can keep layering and adding to the layout to create more depth and dimension. In this case, the secret really is in all the little details.

Step 1: Start with some die cutting. I've used the swirls from the Coteaux Curls die set to create my flourishes (cut two pieces). I've used the center piece from the Megan's Magic die set, to create a frame (cut 1 piece). And I've cut three pieces with the Vintage Border die.

Step 2: Decide which pieces you would like to cut out for your layout. I always decide that more choices is a better option. I've chosen quite a few pieces from several sheets of paper in the Vintage Garden 12x12 paper pad.

Step 3: Choose a border, a frame, and a title. All these chipboard items are from Imaginarium Designs, and have been dry heat embossed in Copper embossing powder.
If you do not have these items, a border can be created with a border die, a frame can be die cut, and a title can be created from any chipboard letters.

Step 4: Choose your base colours. One cardstock sheet, and two paper sheets (from the Vintage Rose 12x12 paper pad). Cut both paper sheets slightly smaller than the cardstock, as shown in the image. Sew a border around the cardstock and paper sheets.

Step 5: Layer the cardstock and paper sheets as shown, and adhere with double sided tape or glue.
Now add your larger base pieces to your layout, as shown. This is creating your background.

Step 6: Now add your chipboard border, photos, swirl/flourish die cuts, and more fussy cut pieces. Use the foam adhesives to give height and definition to your layout.

Step 7: Add your die cut border to the bottom of the page (I have simply glued three die cut border pieces together). Add a few butterflies, some more fussy cut flowers (that have been raised with foam adhesive), and finish with your title.

Step 8: Add your rhinestones, and highlight some of your fussy cutting with glitter glue.
You are now complete.
