Introducing Anita Enright

Hello, I'm Anita, a 48 year old Brisbane girl, wife to my best friend Brian, and mother of two furry children, my labrador Molly and my pound puppy Max. I have a beautiful niece Sabine and now a 'step niece' Lilli and they feature heavily in my scrapbooking along with all of my family and closest friends.

I have always been crafty.  My mum was a professional dressmaker and then a small business owner in the same industry, so I learnt sewing from her, along with knitting and crochet and I even learnt to cook and bake from her.  She is amazing!!

It was only about 10 years ago that I started papercraft, and well haven't looked back.
In the last couple of years I started to dabble in off the page and love working with all things mixed media, and I now have a steady stream of friends and family that come to me to create a card for that someone special.

"The Desire to CREATE is one of the DEEPEST YEARNINGS of the Human Soul"

It is an honour and a privilege to again be part of the Artdeco Creations Design Team in 2016-2017.  I hope you can once again come on this journey with me and we create beautiful things together.

I am so happy to be back on the blog with everyone today.  For my post I have used the gorgeous new Sea Breeze collection from Couture Creations.

To start I took a 12" piece of craft card stock and cut a 5" x 10" piece and a second piece of 5" x 5".  Score the 5" x 10" at 5" and fold in half.
I then took two matching papers from my 6" paper pad, On the Rocks and Adventurous. I cut them both down to 4 7/8" to just have the craft base card showing once they were stuck down. Mount the On the Rocks piece to the 5" x 5" piece.

Next, glue or tape, the Adventurous piece to the inside bottom of the card base.  I then folded the top part of the card base diagonally inward.  See photo below.

Glue the 5x5" piece on to the folded piece.  I added glue to the triangle and then placed the 5x5" on to it.  I will look like the photo below.

Next, I heat embossed with chocolate brown powder the three word stamps from the Beside the Sea set of stamps. I used the Breathe the Salt Air stamp on the top part of the card, and the Swim in the Sea and Live in the Sunshine on the bottom part of the card.

Die cut in brown cardstock one of the Figure 8 Knot and two of the seashells from the Seashells die set in two coordinating blue cardstocks.

Using the Secrets of the Ocean piece of paper from the 6" paper pad, fussy cut out the seashells, anchor and wheel.
I then cut two small pieces from the white netting and using a hot glue gun attached one piece to the top part of the card and one to the bottom of the card. I also took a couple of the shells from the Ephemera pack to add as well.

To finish just add all your embellishments to it the way you like. I don't like everything to be stuck flat so I popped some up using 3D foam dots.  I did add an actual shell on the base portion of the card so the card would sit up beautifully when finished to display, however this can be omitted if you want to keep your card nice and flat for posting.
