Introducing Kerrie Gurney

#couturecreationsaus #ultimatecrafts

Hi Everyone it's Kerrie here
I live in the beautiful Redlands which is the bayside of Brisbane and have been married to my husband Wayne for 27 years, we have 3 beautiful children who have grown up way too quickly.
I started my “career” in the craft industry back in 1996 (yes 20 years ago) when my sister in law and I started our own party plan business selling rubber stamps and accessories. I have worked in the papercrafting industry since then, teaching classes at conventions and stores around Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. In 2015 I was so honored to be the  Guest Papercraft Artist for  Craft & Quilt Fair at their shows all over Australia and New Zealand. Another amazing experience I have had is traveling to South Africa to teach not once but twice, such a fabulous experience meeting so many lovely ladies and one gentleman. I was also blessed to have taught on a cruise ship this year!!!
I really love teaching as I love the enjoyment people get out of learning while creating and in each and every class I have taught I always come out learning something too. I have had my work published here in Australia and also in the USA.
I am so very proud to be the Design Team Coordinator and Brand Ambassador for Artdeco Creations, Couture Creations & Ultimate Crafts Brands. Artdeco Creations is an Australian company devoted to producing expertly designed, high quality products to the crafting industry.
I love that I can make a page as simple or as embellished as I want but for me it is about the photo and reliving the memory while I am scrapping. I also love to try new techniques and love adding texture to my projects. I don’t really have a style, although I do like to distress everything.

I love the papercraft world, the friendships built and the memories saved and of course all those gorgeous products we just have to have.
Please join me for another year creating beautiful memories for Couture Creations & Ultimate Crafts

 Ok onto my tutorial

I have used the gorgeous  Couture Creations Sea Breeze Collection designed by Denise Boddey for this Double Page Layout
(this is to show my South African friends I can do double pages :) )

This is a super quick layout to re create
I cut strips of Sea Breeze patterned paper  and then using a 6x6 piece along with the matching 12x12 piece of Weatherboard pattern paper create bigger mats

I then cut out the ships wheel and shell along with the three shells from Secrets of the Ocean 6x6 pattern paper
I also cut A Day at the Shore label from Caught in the Wind pattern paper.

I then distress and inked all the edges of all pieces of pattern paper, shells and some pennant piece from the ephemera pack
I then layered all the pieces on and then added some splatter to the background before adding my photos

here is a closer look at the pages

To create my cluster on the second page I used the Turbo Glue Pen to adhere everything on placing some White Netting down first. I pulled apart a Paper Magnolia Flower and added some broken shells to the center of the flowers.

I diecut a label and cut it in half to add a piece to each page of my layout
