With Sympathy Card by Bridget Louw

#couturecreationsaus #ultimatecrafts

Hello everyone, Bridget here again for another project to hopefully inspire you.
This one is for the cardies out there.
I have used the absolutely gorgeous stamps and dies from the Ooh La La range.

Today’s offering is a quick Sympathy card to make for when you need one in a hurry. Let’s get started.

For the peacock feather cut a piece of cardstock 3”x 6”. Cut a piece of the double sided adhesive paper from Couture Creations to the same size. Stick the adhesive sheet to the cardstock and remove the top tape revealing the adhesive. Cover this with the superfine glitter.

Now that you have created your own ultra sparkly glitter paper, cut one peacock feather die.

The next step is equally easy.
Using your non-stick craft mat directly apply ink from 3 shades of blue you want to use for your “watercolour” background. Using an aqua brush randomly apply the colours to a 5 3/8” x 3 7/8” piece of watercolour paper. Set aside to dry.

Add more water to the remaining ink on the mat and rub a piece of seam binding in it to create a matching piece of ribbon for your bow. Set aside to dry.

Cut a piece of vellum 1” x 6” Using an embossing ink pad, stamp the “With Sympathy” stamp on it and heat emboss it with the Silver Super Sparkles embossing powder. Take care not to overheat the vellum with the heat tool to avoid warping. Cut a fishtail on the right hand side of the sentiment.

Cut a piece of teal/turquoise cardstock to 5 ½” x 4” and stick the watercolour piece to the front of it.
Place the vellum to the front of the card, placing tape on the back of the turquoise cardstock to hide it.
Tie a bow in the ribbon and place it on the bottom left corner of the card, using tape on the back of the card to adhere it to. Stick this piece to the front of the card.

Lastly, using the Turbo Precision Glue Pen apply glue to the pack of the peacock feather and glue it to the front of the card.

And there you go, your card is ready to go.
Hope you had fun joining me for a quick project today using the beautiful products in the Ooh La La range.
See you soon,
Bridget

Altered Violin

#couturecreationsaus #ultimatecrafts

Hi Everyone

I am lucky enough in my life to be able to spend some time at my children's school. Whilst spending time with students and teachers I have been able to make some lovely friendships. Which led the music teacher to give me some instruments that the school was retiring. One of which was a violin that had some broken parts. So I took my Couture Creations Anna Griffin Mixed Media to it and this is what happened.

I started this piece by first removing all the hardware ie chinrest, tail piece, bridge and strings etc  from the violin. then I gave a light sand with the fine side of the Couture Creations Sanding Block.
Then I gave it a few coats of Couture Creations Anna Griffin Acrylic Gesso before painting it with white acrylic paint.

I added some of the Couture Creations Anna Griffin Pigment Powders to some more white paint and the brushed it into the white paint while it was slightly wet still, adding more white here and there for effect.

I then mixed some of the Couture Creations Anna Griffin Matte Texture Paste with some Couture Creations Glitter and using one of the gorgeous Couture Creations Anna Griffin Creeping Vines Stencils spread the mix over the Lower Bout of the violin and let it dry.

I painted some of the left over mix onto the turn keys. And with some Couture Creations Turbo Glue Pen I added some silver leafing to the scroll, finger board and Tail piece.

I embellished the waist with some Couture Creations Camden Cottage Roses and other embellishments I had lying around in my stash.

I added some of the Couture Creations 3mm Pearls and adhesive Rhinestones to a metal flower that I had lying around which made it the perfect match for the colours I had used on the violin itself.

I then put it all back together including the fine tuners and using silver cord as strings.

I love love love the way it turned out and will be giving it back to the school to use on their Christmas stall at the end of the year.

Ooh La La Card Set by Jo Simons

#couturecreationsaus #ultimatecrafts

Hello friends!
Its my turn today to share with you all what I have been up to.
I have been playing with the beautiful Ooh La La collection.  This collection is full of lovely ephemera and papers and the dies are soooo pretty.
I decided to make some cards.  Because it was all so pretty I wanted to load them up with all the pretties so I made some funky folded cards.

I love making these cards as you then have a few places aside from the front of your card to really go to town and get all that yummy stuff on!

The dies from the collection that I have used are the Nested Labels Set and the Lace Nonet.  The Nested Labels was what I used as a base to start and layer up all the ephemera.

The Lace Nonet I have used to trim the sides of the card in the back of the photo.

Here is a close up of each card.

Thanks so much for stopping by and all your lovely comments.

Until next time
