Monday has been Cancelled Chalkboard by Amanda Baldwin

#couturecreationsaus

Hi Couture Creations fans!
Amanda here, sharing another fantastic Glamour Days Intricutz Dies & Sew Jo inspired project.
Just incase you hadn't noticed, this is one of my most loved collections!
It's soooooo feminine and girly and it always calls to me when I want to create something a little special....

Chalkboards are trending big time, & I have made quite a number of them for gifts recently.
Here's one of my absolute favourites:

 Isn't this a fabulous gift?!
And yes, Monday being canceled just adds to its charm! Love it!

Level of difficulty: Beginner Basic
(yes, another lazy crafter creation!)

Here's how to make one of your own:

1. Use a rectangle or square chalkboard for this design. I got mine from a stationers, but I've bought cheaper ones at those $2 gift stores, you know the ones....
This particular board came with that fantastic Monday protective sticker on it - but if you want to personalise your message you have two options:
a) write in chalk yourself,
or
b) download one of the many free chalkboard fonts, print on a  transparency sheet & attach to chalkboard.

2. Use the sewing machine, & sewing kit dies with the Sew Jo paper pad to create the above embellishments. Use Kraft cardstock with the dress form die, as well as fussy cutting the measuring tapes and a second dress form from more of the Sew Jo paper pad.

3. Attach measure tapes with Couture Creations 12mm double sided tape, as shown above.

4. Start working on your first corner cluster.
Edge the Kraft dress form with black ink (with a sponge dauber), adhere pearls, and scissors to front of dress. Add a heart pearl pin to back of dress. Ahere a triangular piece of white milliners lace to the chalk board. Adhere dress form, remaining sewing kit items (bobbin & spool) and gold safety pin. I added a little message (it's all about you), just to personalise the gift.

5. Next corner cluster.
Adhere flowers, wire large pearl beads into position and adhere sewing machine, as shown above and fussy cut dress form into place.
Tip: To make my dress form stand out, I backed it with a wooden dress form flourish, and added a lace waist band, gold safety pin and one of those gorgeous pearls.

6. Final cluster.
Arrange and attach flowers, wire pearl beads & gold safety pins. (You can create your own flowers using  Couture Creations Nesting Dies)

And there you have it.....
An amazing gift in six simple steps! The lazy crafter strikes again!
