Guest Designer | Novita Ferris, Tresure From The Sea Canvas

#couturecreationsaus #ultimatecrafts

Hi again!

Novita Ferris here, I'm back with another project for my last Guest DT post for the Couture Creations blog for this month and I hope you have all been well.
Today I would like to share my mixed media canvas I have been working on with the Anna Griffin Mixed Media Collection and the Sea Breeze Collection. What can I say, I really had a lots fun playing with these wonderful products.

Treasure From The Sea

Okay! Let's get started!
With a 8x10" canvas I coated the canvas area with some white gesso.

Once the canvas was dried, I used a palette knife to added some matte texture paste with the stencil to add some texture on the canvas.

I used a heat gun to dry the canvas before colouring.
I have chosen blue, pink and brown pigment powders to paint the canvas. Using the tip of brush I pick up some gloss paste  and the colours and then  painted it on the canvas.

First I painted all over the canvas with blue colour to make background and then I painted with pink and brown colours randomly  to give a more aged effect on the canvas.

While the paint dried, I chose some patterned papers from the Sea Breeze Collection Pack (CO724664, CO724669, CO724652) which I will use for creating my canvas.

I started off by trimming the patterned paper "The Sea Breeze" to 7.5 x 5.5"  and then glue it  on the canvas to make a background.

Next up I fussy cut out the shells and light house from the paper in collection pack called "Navigating At Sea" and "A Day Fishing" then distressed all the edges of the pieces.  Ink them afterwards with dark brown and you will already start having lovely embellishments.

Now comes some die-cutting, I chose the "Figure 8 Knot" in dark brown and the "Oil Paint" in light blue cardstock.

One of  my favourite things to do and I can't stop making them!
Yes, I made my own pearls from hot glue using the glue gun. Hold the glue gun and squeeze slowly on the non stick craft mat to make a little water drop and while the glue is still wet I sprinkle blue fine glitter on top.
You can make your own pearls with any colours that you want with the "Fine glitter set".

Finally it is all about layering of the background canvas, once you have put the netting across the corner of the canvas. Add your matted photo and then add dies cuts, shells, charms, fussy cut seashells and light house, metal trinkets and title from the Sea Breeze sticker sheet.

Use the photo as a guide for embellishment placement.

As a finishing touch, with my finger I applied white gesso in all of the edges of the  embellishments to give a softer effect.

Here are some close up photos

I really hope you enjoyed this canvas tutorial.

Merry Christmas by Adriana Bolzon

#couturecreationsaus #ultimatecrafts

Hi everyone, Adriana Bolzon here today and I have created another project with the new release collections
"Be Merry & Bright & Be Merry & Classic".

Today I have created another layout using the
Be Merry Collection, papers, die and embellishments

I cut two of the Holly Berry Screen C0724950
and placed it on top of some red card stock. I also cut two of the
Ornate Layered Bow Tie set C0724952 and placed them on either side of the photo.

Adding Ephemera C0724913 piece under the photo.

Using the Be Merry Holly Berry Sprigs stencil C0724933 and dabbing red ink around the edges of the star papers.

Using my Go Cut & Emboss die cutting machine to cut the following

Ornate Layered Bow Tie set C0724952

Thanks for looking, until next time,

Merry Christmas Card by Anita Enright

#couturecreationsaus #ultimatecrafts

Hello Everyone, Anita back again on the blog.

By now most of you will have seen the new Couture Creations BE MERRY ranges in your favourite scrapbooking and cardmaking store.  If they don't stock it make sure you ask them to get it in for you as it is a gorgeous range.

So today I have for you a card that I made using some of the gorgeous glitter papers released by Couture Creations along with some of the new dies from the BE MERRY range. I love being a little brave straying away from the traditional colours for Christmas.

I have kind of started making my card in a backward kind of way.  The size of my card was dictated by the three die cuts using the Falling Bauble die using the Snow White Ultimate Craft cardstock.  I then turned them into individual little windows by cutting a small frame around each die cut.

I then backed each of the Falling Bauble windows with the fuschia glitter cardstock then put 3D foam tape on the back of each of the windows. Mount each window next to the other with a small gap in between on to some of the Snow White Ultimate Crafts Cardstock.  I then added some white ribbon across the middle tucking the edges under the windows. Adhere the white cardstock with the windows attached to a slightly larger piece of the fuschia glitter cardstock. I added some Snow White cardstock to the back to turn it into a card.

Next I die cut two of the Merry Christmas sentiment from the Merry Christmas Set one in Snow White and one in Onyx Ultimate Crafts cardstock,
and four sets of the Holly Berry Sprig set in Snow White
Mount the black and white Merry Christmas die cut on top of one another slightly offset.

I partially deconstructed one of a Cottage Pollen flower.  I sprayed some adhesive around the edges and then coloured it with some of the Anna Griffin Glitter in a matching pink.  I then glued the centre of the flower back on to the base.

To finish the card I put some glue dots to the back of the flower and attached all the white sprigs.  Adhere this to the left hand side of the card front and place the Merry Christmas sentiment to the right of the flower and then add some 2mm Onyx gemstones to finish.

Quick Christmas Layout by Tracey Cooley

#couturecreationsaus #ultimatecrafts
Hi Everyone

I'm not sure about you guys but I know that my camera and smart phone get quite a lot of use at Christmas time. From trimming the tree to opening presents and even just simply lazing about there is always a photo being taken. So to get some of those shots scrapbooked before I am inundated with more from this year I thought a quick Christmas Layout was the key.

This layout is so simple to achieve with just a few supplies including the Couture Creations Be Merry and Classic Paper Pad and a few of the Be Merry Snowflake Dies. I have used all the snowflake dies in the collection. Be Merry Maria's Fractal, Layered Snowflake Set and Emilia's Pride.

Simply Take a piece of Ultimate Crafts Cardstock and distress the edges. Then trim a piece of Be Merry Classic Pattern Paper from the Paper Pad then distress the edges and adhere to the cardstock base. Then spritz a matching colour over the centre area.

Then with your gorgeous Snowflake dies cut various sizes from Couture Creations Be Merry and Bright Glitter Sheets and Vellum. Cut mats from matching papers to match the size of your Photograph (mine is a 3x4") Distress the edges of your mats and place your random snowflakes underneath.

Add the larges and smallest snowflakes in alternate colours to the bottom corner of your photo. And then add a couple more smaller ones here and there. Finish off with a piece of twisted silver twine, and you are all done.

Simple but effective.
