Today we are sharing with you all a post from our South African Distributor The Wholesaler created by their designer Jowilna Nolte .  Some of you will remember Jowilna from her time on our design team and also for her guest spots on our blog. We love having Jowilna guesting on our blog as she is such a talent

One of my favourite products from The Wholesaler is the Liquid Drops from Couture Creations. Now in the traditional sense I am not the type of crafter that will make little pearly drops using this medium – somehow it just doesn'’t make sense to me. But the product is a favourite of mine for creating mixed media backgrounds. The product offers a beautiful pearly effect perfect for creating a variety of projects.

  • You will need a variety of colours - the more colours the better for me.

  • Use any piece of white cardstock that you have handy. I always keep my scraps from other projects and even pieces that I have tested colours and effects on. These are great for creating beautiful backgrounds.

  • Add some Liquid Drops onto your cardstock.

  •   Use a palette knife or old credit card to smooth out the pearls randomly onto the cardstock.

TIP: Leave some thicker parts and spread other areas out really thin for a nice coloured but translucent effect.
  • Add a second colour to your cardstock. I generally leave the pearls to dry for a few seconds in between layers.
TIP: The thinner you spread the pearls the quicker it dries.
  • Keep on spreading colours over the white areas. Create a patchwork using the different colours to make a rainbow effect.
  •  I used a piece of cardstock with some stenciling on as well as a cleaner piece with more white areas, you can clearly see the difference between the two pieces of cardstock. Both give an amazing effect but with totally different looks.

And that is one of my all-time favourite effects using one of my favourite products ever – Liquid Drops.

Rambling Birds Card by Kerrie Gurney

#artdecocreations   #couturecreationsaus    #ultimatecrafts

Hi Everyone Kerrie here  back with another project for Artdeco Creations Blog
April brings lots of special birthdays for my family and friends so I thought I would get a headstart on creating some cards.
For this special card I have used the gorgeous Ultimate Crafts Rambling Rose 6x6 paper pad along with the ephemera packs and wood veneer shapes.
This is actually a quick card to create but looks like it has taken hours

to start off i mixed some of Couture Creations Anna Griffin Pink Pigment Powder with warm water in a spray bottle to create some shimmer spray

I then sprayed some flowers and the wood veneers and dried with my heat tool

I then decided the pick was too soft on the wood veneers and so I embossed them with gold embossing powder, sprinkling in some glitter while the embossing powder was molten to add some sparkle

I then distressed and inked all the edges of all my paper and ephemera pieces and layered them onto my card base. I added a splatter of shimmer spray to the background giving a little shimmer.

next up I layered on my flowers and wood veneers, I layered the larger gold wood veneer bird over the top of the bird on the ephemera tag adding some dimension to it. I also added a bird ephemera piece and layered the smaller wood veneer bird onto it.

as you can see it is super quick but oh so beautiful to create a card using the 6x6 paper pad and ephemera and wood veneer packs.

Dream, Love by Tracey Cooley

#artdecocreations   #couturecreationsaus    #ultimatecrafts

Hi Everyone

I hae to say it is just so easy to make cards when your using the new Ultimate Crafts Rambling Rose Collection. I realise that we are all very strapped for time these days with kids, work and sport etc so when someones birthday or special occassion creeps up on us we are normally unprepared.
so here is a very quick card that can be done in about 15/20 minutes.

start with a 6x6 Ultimate Crafts card stock base and then cut the gorgeous pattern paper from the Rambling Rose Pattern Paper Pad. If you choose this particular paper you will see that the roses mirror each other on each side.

I simply cut a mat from one side of the pattern paper then I fussy cut the other roses and leaves from the left over side. And mounted them with Couture Creations Foam Mounting Tape. Using different heights for differnet levels

I also cut the gorgeous butterfly out to 3D him. then using the Couture Creations Glitzin Glamour I added some sparkle to my roses. leaves and butterfly.

To finish off I cut a frame from the Rambling Rose Ephemera set diagonally and added it to the top corner of my card. Then using some word stamps I added a couple of sentiments.

ALL DONE!!!
Next time you get caught unaware grab your Ultimate Crafts Rambling Rose and you will have not trouble creating something wonderful in just a few minutes.

You are as lovely as a rose by Jo Simons

#artdecocreations   #couturecreationsaus    #ultimatecrafts

Hi and thanks for stopping by.
Jo here with a layout I have created using the super gorgeous new paper line - Rambling Rose by the very talented Sue Smyth

Here is how is how I created my page.

To start I used some embossing paste and one of  Anna Griffin stencils.  I then used some embossing powder and heat set it.

Here is the finished result

I coloured my flowers using some of the purple pigment powders mixed with a little gesso

The Rambling Borders die is one of my favourites in the collection.  To make it a bit more of a feature I double embossed it with some embossing powders

I then assembled my layout and made my clusters.
Here are a couple of close up shots of some of the details.

Thanks for popping by.  Until next time

My Favourite by Anita Enright

#artdecocreations   #couturecreationsaus    #ultimatecrafts

Welcome back to the blog today everyone. Anita here with you again with another creation using the gorgeous RAMBLING ROSE collection which has just been released.

Before I go any further if you like any of this collection do not hesitate getting in to your craft store and grab what you like because everything is running out the door already!!

For today's creation I have used so many of the beautiful butterflies that cover the patterned papers in the collection.

To start I have taken a piece of the Ultimate Craft cardstock in Snow White.  From the 12x12" paper pad I have used the wood panel paper.  There are two options in the papers, one with just the wood panels and one that has a lovely floral border along the bottom.  Because I wanted the focus to be the butterflies I have stuck to the simpler plain wood panels.

From the wood panel paper I trimmed a piece approximately 5" vertical and adhered it to the left side of the white cardstock.
I chose a square photo and mounted it on a piece of the Obsidian cardstock. I added a heart doily from the Ooh La La range to the back of the photo mat.
From the ephemera pack I chose one of the thin borders and after working out where I wanted to position my photo cut the thin border in two so that it edged the wood panel paper and finished right to the edges of the top and bottom of the page.

Next I fussy cut heaps of butterflies from the patterned papers.  Using some of the pigment powders in the coral pink and purple and a water pen I changed the colours of the inside of the butterflies.

I added some of the 2.5cm and 3cm Tie Dyed and Jewelled flowers to both the top and bottom left side of the photo and then I scattered the butterflies up the seam of the patterned paper, some of foam tape and some just glued down. I kept a couple of the butterflies aside to just add to other spots on the page once I had completed it.

I inked up a title and adhered it to the bottom right edge of the page.  Finally I added some pearls to the butterflies.
