Hello there, John here today!
Sometimes a voucher is the only option but this doesn't mean that it has to be wrapped in plain old wrapping paper.
In this post I would like to share an idea with you. It's a gift envelope using some Naughty or Nice goodies from Couture Creations.
This envelope uses the following items.
- CO0726890 - Couture Creations Naughty or Nice 165 mm Square Patterned Papers
- CO726723 - Mini Dazzlia Cut Foil & Emboss Sentiment To/From
- CO726752 - Mini Scoring Board
- ULT200068 - Carnelian Cardstock
- ULT200031 - Cypress Pine Cardstock
- CO725390 - Red Mirror Finish Heat Activated Foil
- CO724389 - Turbo Glue Pen
- CO726343 - Mini Guillotine Trimmer
- CO726809 - Precision Craft Knife
- A4 Sheet of White Cardstock
- Metal or Metal Edged Ruler
- Tag Die
- Small Red Ribbon Bow
Begin by trimming the header from the Naughty or Nice patterned paper and then cutting it down to size according to the guide on the Mini Scoring Board.
In my case I was making a 4 inch envelope, which would hold a 3 3/4 inch card and so need a 6 1/2 inch square of paper.
Align and score all four corners, following the instructions with the Mini Scoring Board. In this example it would be 3 1/4 inch.
Cut away the small triangular sections created by the overlapping score lines.
Fold in one point of the envelope and apply a small amount of glue using the Turbo Glue Pen.
Then, fold over the opposite point and hold it while the glue 'grabs'.
Apply another dot of glue, this time in the centre where the two points overlap and then bring in one of the other points and hold in place until the glue 'grabs'.
The envelope is now complete - easy wasn't it?!
Now to decorate it.
Die cut four tags from white cardstock and glue two to some of the Carnelian cardstock and trim around the edges leaving an even border.
While all of the glue dries, cut, foil and emboss the To/From sentiments using some red foil, there are a few different finished that you can choose from. I went for a mirror finish.
Make two piles of parts each with a plain white tag, a red bordered tag and a sentiment.
For the first set, glue the sentiment to the red bordered tag. Then, glue the two tags together at the top area, where the hole should be. Repeat for the second set.
Use the scoring board to score a hinge in each tag.
Glue the tags to the front of the envelope.
Finally, add the red ribbon using the Turbo Glue Pen.
Much better than a generic envelope from where you got the voucher, don't you think?
Hope you enjoyed this one and will join me again
soon for another festive make.
Bye for now
JOHN
