Caddy Craft Holder with Lee-Anne

Hello all and welcome back to my post for the Couture Creations Design Team.
As we finish the festive season, I always seem to struggle to find and make an unusual craft related gift to share with my craft buddies. I stumbled across this great idea of turning an explosion box into a caddy holder that I would like to share with you.
This is a variation of the explosion box created and shared by my design colleagues in an earlier post.

I made this explosion box using the Couture Creations Butterfly Garden paper collection, the Couture Creations mini guillotine and the Couture Creations scoring board.

For this project you will need:  12x12 brown card stock, 12x12 purple card stock, Butterfly Garden 06A and 03B pages and organza ribbon and eyelets for the punched holes.

Using the brown card stock score at 3 ¾ and 8 1/8 inches, rotate page and score the same measurements. Turn the page on the diagonal, line up page with left hand side of scoring board and score at 8 ½ inches, rotate page and score the same measurements. Fold the paper on all the score lines as valley folds. Fold the outside corners as mountain folds so that they fold into the box.

Decorating the outside of the box, trim the purple card stock to form the matt and stick to the brown card. A reminder for the corners to trim the square on the diagonal to ensure the folds in correctly. Trim the 06A pattern page and stick to the matt. Flip over the page to alternate the pattern used. Flip the brown card over and repeat the matting on the inside of the box. Trim the 03A pattern page and stick to brown card, remembering to trim the corner pieces in half on the diagonal to form the correct fold.

To create lid the explosion box, trim the brown card to 17.5cmx17.5cm, score at 1 ¼ and 5 ¾, rotate page and score again on same measurements and fold on the score lines. On the score line, snip into each of the corners for form the container. Trim the purple card stock and secure to the top and sides of the container as the matt. Trim the 06B pattern and secure to the purple matt card. Trim the 06B pattern page and secure to the inside of the lid. Fold in the trimmed corners and secure inside the container to form the lid.  Add the lid to the top of your explosion box.
At this point you can embellish and use the explosion box as per usual.

To create the caddy holder, use a punch and punch a hole at the point of each corner and set the hole with an eyelet to ensure that the paper does not tear. Tread an organza ribbon through each of the holes and pull together, tie into a bow to create the holder. At this point the lid will no longer fit onto the explosion box but can be used alongside the holder as a trinket holder.

To ensure that items placed into the holder do not slip, create two more mini boxes to hold the items in the base. Loosen the bow to insert the mini containers to the base. Trim the brown card to 5x5 inches, score and fold each side at ½ and 4 ½ inches. Snip the corners on the score line and stick inside the container. Trim the 06B pattern and secure to the bottom to the container. To make the smaller container, trim the purple card stock to 4x4inches, score at ½ and 3 ½ inches, fold on the score lines, on the score line, trim the corners and stick inside the container and add a piece of the 06B pattern card to the bottom of the container. Secure both containers inside the base of the explosion box.
Pull the organza through the eyelets, tie the bow again to finish off your box.

Congratulations, you have finished your explosion box caddy holder.

Enjoy!
