Female Scrapbooking Layout using Gentleman's Emporium with Michelle Frisby
Hi Everyone,
I'm back to share a little creativity and this time I'm sharing a layout.
I don't create too many layouts these days, but it does happen from time to time.
Couture Creations released a fabulous collection, called the Gentleman's Emporium and it really is such a versatile paper collection to create with.
It goes without saying that the name gives away a little that it is a more masculine collection, but don't let that fool you - it is a versatile collection and one that you can also use to scrap the females in your life.
These photos were taken of my daughter whilst we were visiting her in the UK and tiki touring around the countryside.
On a black cardstock background, I used the reverse side of this paper and whilst I ripped and cut the paper and used the full sheet in its entirety, there is only one sheet used on this layout and by ripping and tearing and layering with a little black cardstock, the layers make it look as though I have used more than I really have. In between some of the layers I have used 3D foam adhesive dots, not just the dots themselves, but the whole sheet, dots and surrounding adhesive packaging as well.
Building up the layers.
and adding a few more ...
Tip : whenever I put together a layout, I trim a little of the background paper or cardstock away [approximately 1/2"] - why do I do that, so that when it is filed away it sits in my plastic sleeve a little easier and doesn't tend to buckle so much --- most of my layouts are lumpy, bumpy layouts.
I extended the brickwork in the photos to my layout and used a brick stencil. I mixed a little modelling paste, together with some coarse texture gel and Couture Creations mixed media copper mix pigment powder. I just mixed the gel and modelling paste together on a piece of cellophane packaging and sprinkled in some of the pigment powder and used a plastic spatula to spread over the stencil and then waited for it to dry. I may have been a little impatient and used my heat gun to assist in the drying process.
