Silent Night Christmas card with John Bloodworth

Hello - It's John Bloodworth here today for Couture Creations and
Yes, I have been CHRISTMAS crafting!

For my next design team creation I have been working with the Christmas collection from Couture Creations and have had great fun making a variety of projects, of which this is the first.

This design used the following items.

  • CO0726890 - Couture Creations Naughty or Nice 165 mm Square Patterned Papers
  • CO726903 - Couture Creations Naughty or Nice Die Cut Ephemera Pack
  • CO726909 - Mini Die - Naughty or Nice
  • ULT200068 - Carnelian Cardstock
  • CO724389 - Turbo Glue Pen
  • CO726343 - Mini Guillotine Trimmer
  • 135 mm White Square Card Blank
  • Scraps of black and white cardstock
  • Red Ribbon Bow
  • Red Adhesive Gems
  • Double Sided Tape

To begin, crop the Cardelian cardstock down to 130mm square.

Then, trim the header from the Naughty or Nice patterned paper.

Now trim the Naughty or Nice patterened paper down to 125 mm square, taking the left hand edge off first.

Using double sided tape, fix the Carnelian cardstock and Naughty or Nice patterned paper to the square card front.

Now, using foam pads for the bauble and glue for the hanging string, fix two of the smaller baubles from the Naughty or Nice ephemera pack to the front of the card as shown below.

Do the same with one larger bauble but position it lower down the card.

Grab scraps of black and white cardstock and die cut the Silent Night mini die from each.

This sentiment can be positioned wherever you like. Here is one example.

I chose to place it in the centre of the larger bauble though. The black die cut was used to create a shadow layer and was fixed in place with the Turbo Glue Pen.

The white die cut was then fixed on top and slightly offset.

Next, add a couple of gems to the sentiment if you want to add a little sparkle.

Then, add some of the holly die cuts from the Naughty or Nice diecut ephemera pack to the top of each bauble using the Turbo Glue Pen.

Follow this with a red ribbon bow on the larger bauble. This was again fixed in place with the Turbo Glue Pen.

You can of course go on and add more embellishment if you wanted to however I felt that this was a nice, simple to construct Christmas creation as it was.

Hope you enjoyed that and I will see you again next time.
Cheers John :)
