Special Mini Book with Alicia
Hi everyone Alicia here today and welcome to my blog post, which is very special as it is a little book for Quentin's cousin to put pictures in of her precious little boy to celebrate his very first Christmas and give to his very proud Grandad.
I treat little books like this just like an oversized card - as there are just a few more pieces and a few more folds. Each of the surfaces is 3.75"x5.75".
I keep all of the photomats identical in size and square to assist non-scrapbookers in attaching them after I give them the book - except the front cover which accommodates a 2" square photograph so that it is obvious who the book is about.
I have also included little caption strips next to each photograph (except the cover) so that the memories also include the story in the words of the recipient (or at least their parents). I have used Gold Foil Cardstock to mat all of the captions, backgrounds and photographs.
I have created embellishments using several Cutting Dies and Cut, Foil & Emboss Dies using the same Gold Foil Cardstock and White Cardstock that I have used elsewhere in the book. I have accentuated the embossing from the Cut, Foil & Emboss Dies on White Cardstock with a Sponge Dauber and Christmas Green Pigment Ink.
Cut, Foil & Emboss Dies are a seriously undervalued addition to the Papercraft World - they are a true game changer when you consider that you can use them either with or without a Go Press & Foil Machine. The fact that they CUT & EMBOSS all at once is supremely exciting - and I am not exaggerating here. If you haven't tried them, I suggest you do as I reach for them before anything else - especially for titles.
Well that is it for my project share today and my advice is that you really should give Cut, Foil & Emboss Dies a try.
