Christmas Treasure Boxes with Michelle

Hi everyone,

Fabulous to see you visiting the Couture Creations blog.

Today, it's my turn to share a little Christmas treasure box - well two little boxes really and it's all ready for Christmas gifting little treasures for someone special.

So very quick and easy to make - here are the instructions...

The base is a piece of cardstock 5" x 5".

Score at 2" and again at 3" - score sharply and fold.

Cut rectangles of patterned Naughty or Nice paper :
4 rectangles 4 3/4" wide and 1 3/4" deep
2 rectangles 4 3/4" wide and 3/4" deep

Ink around the edges of each paper rectangle and adhere to cardstock.

When folded and ready for embellishing you will be working with the top panel as the lid.

Now you need to make two boxes.

Cut two pieces of patterned paper 5" x 5".

Each box is made as follows.

Draw pencil lines from corner to corner.

Fold each corner into the middle of the 'x' and then fold that line
back over itself to meet the middle line from diagonal to diagonal.

When you turn it over you can see that it is all criss-crossed.

Next photo - see where I cut the panels.

Now all folded in - a wee origami box.

Adhere both boxes to each other to join them together and then adhere to the bottom.

Embellish - add a little cheesecloth, netting, layers of Christmas foliage, a few crafting fibres, some Christmas baubles, a pine cone or two, a tag, poinsettia and then finish it off by randomly applying Christmas snow and a sprinkling of tinsel glitter.

I've also added a rhinestone to each box, like a dummy drawer handle.

A close up or two ...
