Box Centrepeice Card with Jeanette

Hello again,
This time around I am using the 'Lest We Forget' Collection and making myself a table centerpiece for Anzac Day.
As we are unable to spend this day in our normal manner I was trying to come up with an idea that would remind us (my son, husband and myself) of the importance of remembering and thought a little something for the center of the table would be nice.

What I use:

To start with I used two co-coordinating pieces of cardstock measuring 10 x 12" and then scored the longest side at 5.75" and 11.5". I then turned the cardstock so that the smallest section was down the bottom of the scoreboard and scored across the cardstock at 6".  Once this was done I cut along the score line in the smaller section at the 5.75" mark and the 11.5" mark, the little section was cut completely off above the score line. I then rounded the corners on the flaps and angled the little 1/2" section. this is done to both pieces of cardstock to make up the box.
Please note that if you want a much smaller box you will only need one piece of cardstock and you can score it accordingly.

Using background paper number 1 and 2, I cut four pieces measuring 3.75 x 5 3/8" for the smaller flaps and four pieces 5 5/8 x 5 3/8" for the larger box pieces, rounding any corners as necessary.
I then adhered 3mm double sided tape to the back of seven of the eight pieces.

With the decorative piece I chose for the back of the box, I fussy cut the top of the image out and then added the double sided tape to the back.

I attached this piece to coordinating cardstock for added support and then stuck it to the box. I also attached all other pieces in their places being sure to place the flower piece and writing piece on the front of the box.
The front part of the box was then joined on the right hand side to the back by adding 3mm double sided tape along the little flap section.

Placing a few poppy flowers from background paper no. 7 along the join line helped things to blend better.

Four strips of cardstock were cut out measuring 1 x 6.75", they were all scored .5" on each end and 3mm double sided tape affixed. In hindsight I would put two strips of double sided tape at the ends for a better stick.

I then cut out 16 strips of acetate to attach to the cardstock and hold all of my poppies. I used 3mm double sided tape for this. Using my scissors I fussy cut all the poppies from background paper no. 7 and stuck them to the acetate, staggering them on each strip.
I added a subtle touch of glitter to some of the poppy centers. Die shapes were cut from leftover pieces of the background papers to decorate the box.

Unfortunately I do not have any images of joining the poppies to the acetate or of joining the cardstock strips to the box so I have made a little mini box to show you.

Firstly open up your box and take your strip and attach it to the left hand side.

Attach each strip an even distance apart.

Then remove the tape from the other end and lay them all down.

Carefully fold the right hand side of the box over the strips and press securely down.

Attach double sided tape to the small flap section of the box and attach it to the adjoining side, it helps to lay the box flat to do this.

Your box is all joined together and you can continue to decorate it as you wish.

I added a layered Slouch Hat and Standing Poppy die on the front flap along with a few Standing Poppy dies on the side flaps. I also added a little glitter to the flame image at the back and stamped up some Poppy Leaves onto green scraps of the background papers to add in with the poppies.
