Aussie Bush Christmas Card by Kerrie Gurney

#couturecreationsaus

Hello Everyone Kerrie here ... here we are at the end of November already!!! ..how did that happen?

I am here today to share with you a card I created for Couture Creations Blog using a mix of collections to create an Aussie Bush Christmas card ...something a bit different to the normal Christmas card, but super quick to create which is what we all love at Christmas time especially so we can mass produce cards.

Onto the tutorial

Start off by embossing the front your card front
(Did you know Couture Creations Embossing Folders are perfect for embossing whole card fronts as the folder is cut smaller on the embossed side so you don't get any dead spots)

next lightly sand the embossed front so your embossed pattern pops ( I have used Core'dinations Whitewash cardstock, this is one of my favs)

cut a couple of pennants from Hearts Ease patterned papers
Distress and ink the edges of both pennants along with the card front

next up cut your diecuts, I have used these two from Couture Creations
(This Large Winter Tree die is also perfect for cutting up and using as foliage behind flowers so a must have die for your collection )

don't forget to use Quick Release die paper to stop the cardstock and patterned paper sticking into the die

lightly sand the edges of the reindeer to give more character

Ink the edges of the reindeer and ink the leaves and trunk randomly on the tree to give light and dark appearance making the tree look more natural
then adhere both to card front using foam mounting tape,
For the tree only place foam tape to the trunk so the leaves are free
To finish off fluff the leaves, antlers and legs to give life to the tree and reindeer. Nobody likes  lifeless trees and reindeer

Layer everything onto your embossed card front

a closer look at the leaves and reindeer with the leaves and antlers fluffed up
add some gemstones to the baubles hanging from the reindeer antlers

and there you have an Aussie bush chrissy card
