Matching Card & Envelope with the Scoring Board

Hi everyone and I'm so glad that you've swung by to see my latest Couture Creations creativity.

I'm sharing another box envelope and card using my 'go to' favourite tool of the moment - my  Couture Creations scoring board.

Let's be honest, we all have a special tool that is perhaps our go to tool - I'm sure it changes over time, but this one is used most days when I am creating.

I think that I would be more than a little lost without it.

Card ...

Cut a piece of white cardstock for the base of your card - 8 1/2" x 6" and score in half - so the front of your card now measures 4 1/4" wide x 6" - this is your working space shall we say.

Cut a piece of plain purple paper/cardstock and adhere slightly smaller than your card.

Cut two pieces of patterned paper [cut two the same size - slightly smaller than the plain purple paper] - I've used sheet 4 from the Butterfly Garden collection.

Adhere first piece in its entirety.

The second piece tear into three pieces.

Using a doily edge die cut strips and tuck them under and between each of the torn pieces of patterned paper building up the layers and adding texture.  Adhere.

Cut a selection of different pieces of foliage - using plain purple paper, some of your patterned paper and throw in a little green foliage as well.

Cut two sets of butterflies.

Now start to build up your embellishment cluster on the front of your card  - I started with a little muslin [cheesecloth] which I have pulled apart gently using my fingertips, then start layering your pieces of foliage, tucking in fibres and pearls between the layers - note, you use quite a bit of liquid glue layering all your foliage pieces to build your cluster.

Adhere a bloom to the top of your foliage add a sentiment - I've used a rub on 'smile', adhere your butterflies and then I've used a toothpick and randomly applied gesso to finish.

Envelope box ...

I've used my scoring board  and score lines for paper size 10 x 10 - so my score line figure were 5 and 6.

The paper for my envelope box was sheet 8 from the Butterfly Garden collection.

I've used a doily edge die and cut strips and adhered them underneath the flap.

Build up a small embellishment cluster and before I have adhered to the top of the flap I have wound purple and white twine around the envelope box and underneath the cluster so that it ties shut in the front, just below the embellishment cluster.

Randomly apply gesso to finish.

One card, one envelope box now all ready and waiting for gifting to bring a smile.
