Altered Peat Pot by Kerrie Gurney

Hi everyone Kerrie here, I have been browsing on Pinterest and came across Altered Peat Pots and fell in love. Don't you all just love Pinterest so many inspiration. (you can follow us on Pinterest )

As I am not a gardener I headed straight out to my local garden centre to purchase some peat pots. I knew I had to create some of these using some of my Couture Creations products, my mind was in peat pot overdrive :)

Paint Peat Pot with Gesso and set aside to dry
Cut 2 x 6" x 3" strips of Core'dinations Whitewash cardstock and emboss using  Extra Confetti Embossing Folder.

Make a template for the side of the peat pot and cut 4 side pieces

Sand the embossed side pieces using Couture Creations Sanding Block
Distress the edges using Couture Creations Non Stick Scissors

Die Cut flower petals using the 4 smaller Roses Nesting Dies cut 1 of ea  of the bigger sizes and 2 of ea of the smaller sizes

Cut into die shape creating 4 petals

Spray the petal die cuts with water, layer together and scrunch

unfold gently and dry using heat gun
Putting it all together
Adhere the embossed side pieces to the side of the pot
Tie a piece of tulle around the pot
Assemble flower petals using double sided tape and place crystal gemstones in center of flowers
Die cut one of each doily die, Jasmine's Dream & Tranquillity Decorative dies.
Use a skewer for the stem, you can either cover using washi tape or paint it, attach the flower to the front of skewer and the doily to the back.
Use hot glue to adhere a foam ball to the inside of peat pot, hot glue some tulle to foam ball and stick skewer into foam ball.
Adhere Jasmine's Dream vine die cut and Tranquillity die in place and adhere the small flower to the front of pot.
Add Crystal Glitter Glue on flower petals and die cuts.
Finish off with some Spanish Moss in the base of the pot

I am going to make some more of these to give to my Mum and Mother In Law for Mother's day. They would also make perfect table centre pieces for a wedding or any special occasion.
