Darling Daughter by Julianne McKenna-De Lumen

Hello crafters!
It's Julianne here today, sharing a layout created with the Magnolia Lane collection.
This layout is rather quick and simple to make - the most time consuming part is the fussy cutting.
Don't you just love how those edge borders have been joined together to create a centre section? Add in flowers and bling, and you have one very pretty layout.

Step 1: Prepare the background for your layout with cardstock and patterned papers taped together. The base is 12" x 12" cardstock. Followed by a piece of patterned paper cut to 11.5" x 11.5". And finished with a top sheet of patterned paper cut to 11"x 11".

Step 2: Using a ruler and black pen, draw a stitched border around each layer of the background. Once done, adhere two fussy cut borders down the center of the page. Please note: when creating fussy cut layouts, I never adhere anything right to the edges, as I usually need to be able to pick the edges up to tuck things in underneath.

Step 3: Take the lace border stamp, and stamp two images, one at the top left of the layout, and one at the bottom right of the layout. Now tear a piece of scrap paper, approximately 2.5" x 3.5", and adhere it to the page by tucking it in under the center border, on the left hand side.

Step 4: Add your photos. I have used two photos, one smaller, and one bigger. Both have been adhered with 3D foam tape. I have used a double layer of foam tape on the second photo to help raise it above the larger photo.

Step 5: Add some bling!!! I have taken the rhinestone and pearl flourishes, cut them down to smaller pieces, and added them in three different places. Work slowly and patiently with these flourishes, as they can easily tangle if you rush.

Step 6: Add a resin corner in the bottom left corner, add two paper ephemera tassels below the photos (both have been adhered with 3D foam tape for added height and dimension), glue on 3 paper ephemera butterflies on the lower part of the center border, add a small green rosette to the first tassel, and add fussy cut flowers and leaves where desired (using 3D foam tape for added height). Note: If flowers and leaves are too big, I simply cut them into two or three pieces and adhere them individually.

Step 7: Add more flowers if needed, add white pearls to the borders, and finish with a chipboard title that has been embossed with silver-white embossing powder. Finally, add a little glitter to the flowers, and some Dimensional Magic to the leaves and butterflies, and the layout is finished.
Allow to dry thoroughly.
