Hi Everyone
I am super excited that our upcoming event, Creative Inspiration Live has sold out!!
And even more excited that there is going to ANOTHER one just for those people who missed out on tickets. I cannot wait to see you all there!!!
As you can guess it is my turn on the blog today and I had recently been asked to make some cards for a couple of the Male Teachers at my daughters school as they are moving onto different things next year. I don't know about you guys but with having two gorgeous daughters I struggle with Male orientated cards. So I thought my best chance of making something that is passable would be to head to the Couture Creations Wild and Free range. I think male cards should have texture and Wild and Free has that and more.
I started this card with the leopard print from the Couture Creations Wild and Free Collection kit.
I cut it slightly smaller than the card base I created and then I distressed and inked the edges.
Then I chose a matching Ultimate Crafts Cardsock and stamped it with a versamark ink with the Ultimate Crafts Background Textures Stamp Checkers and chicken. While the ink was still wet I added some Couture Creations Clear Embossing Powder and heated with the ever awesome Couture Creations heat tool.
After the embossing process I then distressed and inked the edges using a Couture Creations Dauber.
Before adhering the above cardstock I cut a Couture Creations Wild and Free Akua Doily set from black cardstock. I then placed the large doily under the stamped piece. I added some gauze to add an earthy element to the card. I placed the smaller doily on the top in the bottom corner.
Once I had let everything dry a bit I then embossed some Brown cardstock with the Couture Creations Wild and Free Tribal Diamonds Embossing folder.
I then added some hinges to give it a heritage look and some string and beads.
I then cut a Wild and Free Ekene Tree from metallic silver cardstock
After cutting I played with some alcohol inks over the silver cardstock, Play until you are happy with the effect. Then I gave it a hand to dry using my heat tool and using Couture Creations Foam dots added it to the front of my card
I then added some little alpha stickers to say farewell and I was all done.
I hope he likes it!!!!!
see you all at Creative Inspiration Live !
