Introducing ..... Anita Enright

Hey Everyone, Anita here back again for another year.

I live in the beautiful Moreton Bay region in Narangba, just north of Brisbane.  I am married to my best friend Brian for 9 years now and we have two furry children Max and Molly.  I am an auntie to three gorgeous children, Sabine 14, Lilli 6 and Thomas 4 months.

My journey into papercraft started just over 10 years ago.  I had previously been invited to a Creative Memories class at a friends house and whilst that style of papercraft was not for me it did wet my appetite for creating beautiful memories.
I love everything to do with paper, embellishments and mixed media so I love making cards for friends and family as well as my 1st love scrapbooking.  I love mixed media and getting messy, altering the everyday things to create something new and unique.
I have been lucky to have been asked to teach classes at several stores in north Brisbane and this past June represented both Artdeco Creations and Craft Giraffe at the Scrapbook and Papercraft Expo in Brisbane teaching classes which was an amazing experience.

In May this year I took on the role of Design Team and Social Media Coordinator which is something totally new for me and has been a new learning curve.
It is such a privilege to represent Artdeco Creations again this year on the Design Team, and it is even more special because they are an Australian owned and produce the highest quality products.

For me papercraft is not only about memory keeping, but for me it is my way to destress and remove myself from the everyday and unleash my creativity. I have built some beautiful friendships during my papercrafting journey and I love sharing my passion with other like minded people.

I hope you join me on my journey again this year.  It will be an exciting time and I look forward inspiring you to make beautiful things.

Now..... on to my 1st post for the month..............

Hi Everyone

WELCOME TO JULY!!!! Wow we are half way through the year already, I swear I blinked and the last six months have gone.  So much has happened for me during that time including receiving a redundancy from a job I had been employed in for 31 years.
I think I pretty much gave my age away :)

To be honest it couldn't have come at a better time.  I have been able to chill out for the last two months getting my body clock back to normality after working 19 years of night work.
I am now ready to take on the world!!!

We have so so many new ranges coming this year, the first one is Let Every Day Be Christmas designed by the lovely Tina Higgins which will be out in your local papercrafting store very soon.
I am really loving this collection as the colours are so so different to most Christmas ranges.

My layout is all about the layers, just building and building until I liked the end result.

To start I decided that I wanted more just an ivory coloured cardstock for my background so I took the gorgeous Holiday Tree decorative die and cut out enough to place over my cardstock to become a type of template.  I then sprayed it with a mix of yellow gold and brown Anna Griffin pigment powder.  After removing the die cuts I was left with a subtle pattern to my cardstock.

Next I chose several patterned papers and cut them to a few different sizes and orientations to use for my layers behind my chose photos.

I cut out a heap of the Christmas Branches decorative die in some of the matte gold mirror board, and also two shades of green Ultimate Crafts Cardstock, Battle Fatigue and Cypress Pine.

To construct the layout I started with the patterned paper pieces and arranged them so that I could see them behind my three photos, then glued them down. I added a few of the Ephemera branches behind the photos and then kept adding the Christmas Branches die cuts and Ephemera pieces to keep adding layers.   To soften the edges of my base cardstock I used a wet glue around the entire edge and then took my matte gold foil I rubbed it over the glue once it go tacky.
A few flowers and a couple of embellies and I was done.
