Petit Layout with Michelle
Hi everyone,
I'm excited to share with you my first Couture Creations project as a design team member - I am honoured to be able to wave the Couture Creations banner around the world.
Here's a little creativity and hopefully you will be inspired to use this gorgeous collection from the Couture Creations team - gorgeous florals, in teal, purple, green and black and ooh-la-la - these papers really are gorgeous.
My layout - 'dream', featuring Le Petit Jardin Collection.
First decision, I went round, I love round and my base, wait for it - is a round paper cake liner.
I have cut numerous strips using the gorgeous floral edge die and then I have folded the strips using my finger tips - they aren't exact by any means. I have then adhered to the underside of my base.
A wee tip - when I am making round layouts and using the edging technique, I always trace around my cake liner, just on plain white copy paper a circle, after adhering my edge, I then use a combination of double sided tape and a glue stick and adhere the circle, just to keep it all looking neat and tidy. If I am adding journalling to the back of my layout, it also keeps it all tidy. It's far easier to add the backing circle now, before I start embellishing the front of my layout.
When I create, I am an add 'bitsers' to my creativity. I love lumpy, bumpy creativity.
I normally put together a pile of bits and pieces - I love to add foliage between the layers, love flowers, muslin, fibres etc and you will normally always find pieces of corrugated cardboard between my layers [pieces of the humble cardboard box]. Waste not!
Lots of layering, a little fussy cutting, handmade foamiran flowers, a little muslin, some crafting fibres and to finish off, I have ranadomly applied gesso using a toothpick.
A close up ...
Until next time, happy creating.
