Mini Easel Layout with Jeanette

Hello everyone,
Today I am going to be making a Mini Easel Layout using the lovely 'My Secret Love Collection for my Guest Design project.
My thoughts on making this little layout was so that I could have my parents close to me at this particular time, if not in person then at least in picture form.

What I used:

Using a dark green coordinating cardstock, I made a stand for my layout by cutting the cardstock into two separate pieces. the first one measures 11 x 6.5" ( 28 x 16.5cm).and the second piece measures 6.5 x 3" (16.5 x 7.5cm), this will form the base of the stand.

The larger piece will be folded width wise so will be scored at 5.5" (14cm). The small piece will be scored lengthwise in three places, .5, 1.5 and 2.5" (1.8, 3.8 and 5.8cm). This piece gets folded with a valley in the centre and the two outer pieces form mountains, mitre the corners slightly. Add 6mm double sided tape to the outer parts.

I've chosen background paper no. 5 from the 'My Secret Love' Collection and will be cutting the image out to a size of 5.25 x 6.25" (13.3 x 15.25cm). I will then cut a circle where the pocket watch image is.

I used some of the background paper to place under the hole so that the green of the cardstock wouldn't be seen.

Butterflies were cut using the 'Secret Butterflies' die set from both the cardstock and the background paper. Attach the background papers to the cardstock using 6mm double sided tape.

I've chosen a complimenting cardstock to support the pocket watch face, leaving it attached on one side to form a card. I've then added white foam dots to the front and back to add dimension.

Place the cardstock card onto the layout where the circle is and then attach the pocket watch image to the front.

Some little flowers have been fussy cut out of background papers 4 and 12 to arrange around the little card and I chose the sentiment stamp 'Be Mine' which was layered onto an off cut of background paper and some cardstock. Two of the butterfly dies were glued inside the little card using the Precision Glue Pen.

A recent photo of my parents who celebrated their 60th Anniversary this year was cut to fit inside the little card, it was layered onto a piece of background paper with the edges distressed.

The photo and background paper were attached to the little card using 6mm double sided tape.

On the face of the stop watch I used 2mm Pearls in Cream and a 3mm Silver Pearl to decorate.

A little pink ribbon was glued between the layers and under a flower to use as a closure. Die cut butterflies adorned with Emerald Green 3mm Pearls and delicate flourishes were added to complete the layout.

So in this time where we don't get to see those that we love as often as we would like, I have this lovely little 'secret' layout in my craft space to keep me company :)

I also have a full tutorial for this project on my Youtube Channel -
