Birthday Card with Lea-Anne
Hello all and welcome back for my turn on the blog for the Couture Creations Design Team.
This time I am going to share with you how to create a quick birthday card using pattern paper and sentiments/images that come with a paper pack or the ephemera set.
This month, our card making group decided to explore and go back to making quick cards.
In our card making journey we collect and make so many samples of our embossing folders, inks, etc to create interesting backgrounds that are not used immediately.
This is a great opportunity to pull these out of your stash box and use them on quick cards.
The same goes for all the pretty pattern papers that we collect.
The designers and supplier now supply paper collections with sentiments and stunning images already in place and ready for easy use.
The ephemera sets, that are designed to complement each paper collection, makes this project even more fun, quick and easy to put together.
This card took me 20 minutes to design and prepare the die cuts and 13 minutes to put together.
I used to the Couture Creations Peaceful Peonies paper collection, Peaceful Peonies ephemera collection and the Couture Creations Go Cut and Emboss machine to cut the die’s.
For this project you will need the Peaceful Peonies 12x12 scrapbook pages10 cut to a 14,5cmx10cmnd a 15cmx19.5cm piece. A burgundy matt trimmed to 15cmx10cm.
From the Ephemera set use the Happy Birthdaysentiment postcard and the The only way to have a friendpostcard (however you will only use this postcard to fussy cut the butterfly’s).
You will also need the Mini Peony cutting die (optional), the green flag and lace strip from the Ephemera Set, skeleton leaves and flower, mini paper flower, the Peaceful Peony cornered leaves 3 mini cutting die, and the Le Petit Jardin mini leaves.
Trim and matt the burgundy paper to your folded card.
Trim and the pattern card and add to the matt.
Snip the paper lace strip, on the left hand side of your card place the first half just under the sentiment postcard and the remaining lace piece overlapping the lace piece on top of the postcard.
On the left continue to add the green flag, overlapping the lace.
Cut the Mini Peony die shape three times from plain card and final cut from pattern paper.
Stack on top of each other to create a raised effect.
Add the rest of your leaves, skeleton flowers and leaves on top of the peony die cut.
Using the The only way to have a friend is to be onepostcard fussy cut the butterflies from the card.
Add butterflies to the card front, first on the left to cover the lace and then in the right of the card. Add a tiny piece of foam under the bigger butterfly’s wings on the right to force the wings to stand up.
To finish your card, you can add some mini pearls or diamante. Well Done, enjoy!
