Special Moments layout with Lea-Anne
Hello all and welcome back Lea-Anne here today for the Couture Creations Design Team.
This time I am going to share with you how to create a 1-page scrapbook layout.
I used to the Couture Creations Steampunk Dreams paper collection, the Couture Creations Go Cut and Emboss machine to cut the die’s and the Couture Creations Go Press and Foil machine to foil the hot foil stamp dies.
I love these photographs of Nicole, a model, taken by my husband.
Both of us are keen members of our local Camera Club.
Each month we are challenged to submit photographs for judging to improve our ranking in the club. As we were on the look out to get some original and different photo’s to submit for judging,
John collaborated with Nicole and our local air force museum.
We setup a photoshoot with two models, lots of lights, camera equipment, hand helpers and the props supplied by the Airforce Museum with full access to the old aeroplanes on display.
Our theme for the photo shoot was to celebrate woman in aviation.
This was a very special photoshoot for all of us involved.
We both did very well with our final images in the club judging and
Nicole added some stunning photos to her portfolio.
For this project you will need the Steampunk Dreams 12cmx12cm scrapbook pages 1 and 3.
You will also need a natural 30cmx30cm brown card, trim page 1 as the matt to 29,5cmx29,5cm and page 2 to 29cmx29cm. You will also need a dark green and burgundy to matt your photo’s.
You will also need a collection of wood chipboard clocks, sentiment, film strip, medal embellishments, paper flower, hessian, lace, old book page, gauze and old stamps.
You will also need a stencil for the background and distress ink. I will also show you how to transfer the left over pieces of used foil, using spray adhesive, onto your background card. The baby powder is sprinkled onto the layout to remove any residue glue from the spray adhesive.
To start your layout, trim the pattern page 03 to 29cmx29cm.
Cut your photo mat cards to size on which to mount your three photo’s.
Photo’s to be added at the end.
Using the words stamp from the Heart Locket stamp set, stamp the words onto your top page as shown.
Using the tea dye distress ink, blend the ink randomly through the stencil onto the page covering the areas where you have stamped the words. Use the ink and blend the edges of the page.
Using a tea stained old book page, the rose gold heat activated foil and the Steampunk Dreams Open wings, cut and foil the wings. Keep the left over foil as you will add this to your layout.
Using the spray adhesive, and the left over rose gold and blue foil bits, randomly spray the adhesive onto the page. Dab the foil onto the sticky glue to transfer and add a glimmer to your background. The video shows how I achieved this. Once dad, sprinkle and wipe baby powder on the page to remove any stick residue.
Using an old dictionary page, tear and layer onto your layout on top of a scrap brown card, also torn and crumpled up. Use black distress ink on the edges of the page.
Check and confirm the position of your photo mats. Don’t stick them down yet.
Stick down and start adding and layering your elements and embellishments onto the layout.
I placed and layered the left over foil wings underneath book page foiled wings as an interesting additional element. Add below your photo positons and at the top right of the main photo.
Add brads to the top left and bottom right corners.
You can now stick the top sheet, page 3 to the red page 1 and then matt both of these with the natural 30x30 layout matt.
Stick down your photo matts into position.
Add and stick down your remaining embellishments, sentiment words and elements to the layout.
Once happy, you can now add your photo’s.
To finish your layout, you can add some mini pearls or diamante. Enjoy !!
