Hi
Valentine's Alcohol ink panel with a difference
Valentine's day for me doesn't always have to be about red, pink and candy - sometimes it can just be about having fun, making art and using your favourite colours. This project is one of those lets just have fun moments using what we love. I am yet undecided if it will form part of an art journal page or a card, but for now I just love it!
I used some of my favourite Couture Creations Alcohol inks available. I can't wait to get my hand on all the new Alcohol inks coming my way soon - and just maybe that will spark a very bright and neon pink Valentine's day.
Step 1 - I created my background using a variety of colours on Yupo paper.
Step 2 - Once I was happy with my background, I placed my Yupo paper in my Stamp Press and used StazOn ink to stamp several image overlapping onto the background.
Step 3 - By overlapping my image I created a fun and informal artistic look - just the way I like it. I stamped the word "love" separately and trimmed it smaller then adhered it on top of my heart stamp.
A quick and easy artistic panel with only a hint of soft pink - but filled with plenty of love! for all things Couture Creations.
Until next time - wishing you a wonderful and happy day filled with love - no matter the colour!

A little something different for this blog post. Having recently acquired some of the Couture Creations alcohol inks, I decided to try and come up with something for the festive season that wasn't "the Usual"
Ready to see how I did?
Today's creations uses elements from The Gift of Giving Papercraft collection from Couture Creations and the Alcohol inks.
Here is the finished card.
STEPS:
Cut two pieces of Yupo Paper 100mm x 143.5mm
Put a few drops of Azure Alcohol ink onto an old stiff bristled brush (old toothbrush works really well) point the brush towards the paper and drag a cocktail stick over the bristles towards you - this way you get the ink on the paper and not on you.
Depending on your work area, you can most likely do both pieces of paper at the same time.
Do this several times until you have a good spattering. Give it a moment to dry. Then repeat with the Mulberry alcohol ink.
To create the larger pastel blobs, I repeated the spattering with some of the Isopropyl Alcohol.
Crop one of the pieces of yupo paper down to 65mm x 95mm
Crop the black card down to 210mm x 148.5mm and fold in half to form an A6 card.
Cut a piece of black cardstock to 70mm x 100mm.
Glue the larger piece of spattered card to the front of the folded card and the other piece to the 70mmx 100mm piece of black card.
Fix this smaller swatch to the front of the card using foam dots.
Die cut the sentiment and branch leaves from black card stock and glue in place.
Finally, decorate with your choice of embellishments. In this example, I used some mini baubles, a bottle cap and some gemstones, you can use whatever you have available.
