Fluttering Easel Card with Michelle
Hi everyone,
Time to share a little more creativity and I have made an easel card for you.
I believe that an easel card has that 'wow' factor [personal opinion]. It's a little different from a standard rectangular card and when I make an easel card it is normally a lumpy, bumpy creation and is designed to remain standing and open for the world to see - well okay, for whoever comes to visit.
My easel card is normally made with white cardstock as the base and is then covered in a pretty patterned paper, this one is part of the Couture Creations Butterfly Garden paper collection.
And then me being me, if I am creating at night time, bear in mind that in my part of the world it is getting dark early in the evening [it's Winter time] and my creativity all of a sudden goes from plain easel card to this, just like that and one forgets to take photos as one is creating, because it is too dark.
So let me talk you through what I have done.
My basic easel card has had a smaller shape added to the front of the card, you can either add a heavy chipboard in between this layer to boost the depth of your card or you can use the fabulous adhesive foam squares or dots from Couture Creations - this next layer is both cardstock and patterned paper.
Note - don't forget that you can use the remaining foam adhesive once you have removed all your squares and dots - don't throw it out. It's ideal for using between the layers.
I have cut out a pile of foliage pieces, added a little crafting fibre, some floral baubles and a little muslin [cheesecloth] before adding my blooms.
I have also adhered a few sequins.
My sticker sentiment has been backed with patterned paper.
I have fussy cut a couple of the butterflies to bring in a little more colour to 'pop' in amongst the purple tonings.
and a close up ...
To finish off my card I have dipped a toothpick into my gesso container and randomly applied it all over my card.
