Early start to my Christmas Cards with Lea-Anne

Hello all,

I have decided to give myself a head start with my Christmas Cards for this year.

This time I am going to share with you how to make this Merry Christmas card using the Couture Creations Naughty or Nice 6.5 x 6.5inch Paper Pad, the Mini Guillotine and Mini Scoring Board.

For this project I used a 21cmx15.5cm white for the card base.
Using the mini score board, I scored the card at 10.5cm and folded in half. Trim the dark green card to 15cmx10cm, the red mirror board to 14.5cmx9.5cm and white shimmer card to 14cmx9cm. From the Naughty or Nice Ephemera Collection, I used the two pre-cut bells, mini father Christmas and mini holly cut outs and the 6x6 08B page for my foiled circle.

I also used the 3D Foam Squares to raise my one bell, my foiled circle and the mini holly. I also used a spritzer and distress pens. If you don’t have this tool you can use a mini spray bottles filled with all purpose inks. I used the green heat activated foil and the inner circle from the cut, foil and emboss decorative nesting circular flourished frames and a smaller circle die to cut out the centre. For the die cuts, I used the Le Petit Jardin evening branch, the Peaceful Peonies Cornered leaves 1 mini die cut set and the cornered leaves 3 mini die set. I used the Mistletoe mini stamp from the Naughty or Nice collection.

To foil the circle, switch on your Go Press and Foil Machine to heat up. Place the die onto the metal plate face down, add the green heat activated foil with the shiny side facing down onto the die and then add your 08B card. Place a scrap piece over this to ensure that you don’t transfer the foil to the lid when cutting and foiling. Once warm and the green light is showing remove the heating pad and run through your go cut and emboss machine. Remove the foiled circle remove the used foil. Using the circle die, die cut the inner circle. Keep the cut out piece for another project.

Using your Go Cut and Emboss Machine, cut the cornered leaves 3 in green mirror card. Cut the cornered leaves 1 from the 08B left over gold piece of card and the evening branch out of bronze foam glitter.

Add the green matte and red mirror card to your folded card.

Using a Precision Stamp Press and the mistletoe mini stamp, I positioned the card landscape and stamped the image three times, just off centre, on the right of the card. With each stamp I first used the a dark brown ink and then stamped using the gold pigment ink on top to give a subtle finish to the stamped image. I stamped the image three times to create the interesting background.

To make create the painted background I used the spritzer by adding the distress ink pen to the holder. I dipped the fatter nib into a little water and gently spritzed the dark green ink onto the card. Repeat and spritz again with the red and brown distress ink pens. If you get big fat paint dots on your card, lift with a little paper towel before it dries.
I left my dots as like the final painted background look. Set aside to dry.

Once dry, adhere your painted card to the red mirror card. You are now ready to start building and finishing your card.

To do this, I added the two evening branches to the top and bottom of my stamped images on the right of my card.

I then added my foiled circle to cover the evening branch and the stamped images.  I snipped the green mirror card corners in half and added underneath and on top on the right of my foiled circle. I then did the same for the gold corners 1 and added above and below the green corners. I then stuck down the first bell overlapping the corners and the foiled circle. I then raised the second bell with 3D Foam Square and stuck this down overlapping the bottom bell and corners. Using the foam squares again, I raised the mini holly and stuck this on top of the holly of the bells.

To finish off the card, I added my Merry Christmas sentiment overlapping the foiled circle on the left of the card and tucked underneath the bottom bell at the right of the card. I then slipped the mini Father Christmas die cut underneath the gold corners on the top right of the card.
Congratulations, you have finished your Merry Christmas foiled greeting card.

Enjoy!
