Colourful Layout with Jowilna
Hi! It's time to create a colourful background with stamping and hot foil stamps.
Hello and welcome to another blog post with me Jowilna.
Today I am sharing a single page layout where I created my own stamped background patterned paper with a hot foil stamp.
I love how this turned out and its so fun and easy to create.
step 1 - Place your hot foil stamp onto your craft sheet or scrap paper face up. Use spray ink and mist your hot foil stamp liberally.
step 2 - Flip a sheet of white cardstock over onto the stamp and lightly press down onto the paper where the stamp is underneath it.
This pressure will transfer the colour onto the paper. Repeat several times using a single colour.
step 3 - Repeat step 1 and 2 with 2 more colours of spray inks. Keep stamping the image onto the background until you are happy with the look. Leave the ink to dry.
step 4 - Stamp some more flowers, but this time I used an ink pad to stamp the flowers and cut them out.
step 5 - Cut out some extra flowers. I also trimmed the white edges off of the elements form the die-cut ephemera packet.
Assemble your layout by adding a 3" (7.5cm) wide strip of patetrned paper on the left edge of your background.
Add your photo using foam tape. Then add your stamped flowers and cut out elements.
Add some embellishments and diamante. To add interest to the large flowers, add some gel medium and then sprinkle with gold glitter and leave to dry.
These colourful flowers are the perfect element for any project and by changing up the way you use your hot foil stamps, you can change the look and effect.
Until next time - I hope you experiment with all those gorgeous hot foil stamps you have.
